Volunteers are needed to help monitor students the lunch period. Duties could include opening food packages, encouraging good behavior, checking on students, and helping to clean up spills and crumbs. Volunteers will check in with the Cafeteria Monitor for their shift. You must register with VBSchools and follow lunch guidelines posted at the school.

If you can see yourself volunteering, helping with school events, organizing the class efforts as a Room Parent, sending in supplies for a PTA project, or want to help in any other way, please reach out to the PTA Room Parent Volunteer Liaison: Paesroomparents@gmail.com or your teacher for more information.
  • Room Parents - Room Parents are needed to help the teacher with projects from home, communicate with the class parents for teacher appreciation & teacher gifts etc., class crafts or parties (as allowed), and other needs the teacher may have.  Please contact your student's teacher if you want to be a Room Parents.

Logging PTA Hours is IMPORTANT because...

  • During the 2024–2025 school year, more than 8,399 Volunteers donated over 23,343 hours of service in Virginia Beach City Public Schools. The value of this service is estimated to be more than $781,757*.
  • VBCPS uses the number of LOGGED volunteer hours quantify the value of volunteer service and apply for division-wide federal grants that benefit our schools and students!​
